Our Story
Hi-Sky Enterprises Ltd was founded by Lorne and Brenda Waldie and has spent its working life in the timber and resource country around Chetwynd, in northeastern British Columbia. What began as a husband-and-wife operation grew into a multi-generational family business. Today their son Shayne Waldie leads operations, and the Waldie family still runs the office and works alongside the crews.
We are a fully mechanized harvesting and hauling contractor and a long-standing harvesting partner to Canfor, with crews that have also supported major regional work including the Site C project. We know the haul roads, the seasons, and the country of the Chetwynd and Peace region because we have worked them for over forty years. Depending on the season, Hi-Sky puts 30 to 60 people to work.
Who We Work With
Hi-Sky harvests for Canfor, one of the world's largest lumber producers, running both northern and southern operations to supply its mills. Alongside the logging side, our trucks haul coal and aggregate for resource customers across the region.

Safety First
Safety is the first measure of a good day at Hi-Sky. We run a SAFE Companies certified, safety-first culture, and we expect every crew member, on the landing or on the highway, to work to that standard.
We are SAFE Companies certified, with the policies, training, and audited practices that resource customers like Canfor require before a crew ever sets foot on site.
Our people are trained for the equipment they run and the roads they travel, with orientation and ongoing toolbox safety meetings.
Decades of operating in the North have shaped a safety culture you can count on, on the landing and on the haul.
